Monopolizing My Brain

I figured it out!! Or kind of. I'm in the process, and so the following thoughts aren't fully formed.

I know why I don't like nor do well in school: It monopolizes my brain!

I believe that you should be living the life that you think you should be living. That may seem straight forward, but a lot of people preach that you should be living a life FOR the future, abstract goal of a life that you are told you should aim for. That's crap! What is it that we're planning for? What is the end goal? Is it a career? Once we get a career are we done? Should we just die at that point? Is it parenting? Once our kids move out should we just die? Is it... retirement? Once we retire should we just die? What is it!? What are we planning for?

Do you know why there is no answer? Because the question is inherently absurd! This may be redundant of my other post, but it's not because I'm not angry. I'm pleased as punch to have had this epiphany. We're not supposed to live our lives preparing for the future. Stop what you're doing and look around! If what we're doing right now does not make us happy then we're doing it all wrong!

What I'm doing:
• Working 40 hours a week in advertising
• Doing 7 credit hours of school studying spanish, computers, and dance (yay!)
• Worrying about church? I don't know about that one. It might not actually count.

Anyway, that may not seem like a lot to you conformists, but if you took one look in my brain you'd explode with the amount of ridiculous nonconformist, disestablishmentarianist (big word used properly!), hippy nonsense there is in there.

What I want to be doing:
• Writing exciting fiction novels 40 hours a week
• Tending a garden (Didn't see that coming did you!)
• Traveling the world in a caravan (American translation - RV?)
• Sunbathing
• Making out with beautiful women
• Bringing down the established government and freeing the people

They were getting kind of ridiculous, but I'm serious! Is there something wrong with that lifestyle? I don't think so. I can't compare the two because what is the standard of measurement? We have two points on a line with no axis (for all you geometry buffs). The aformentioned life seems so much more healthy. It is so much more freeing.

As it is, my creative mind is monopolized by textbooks and search engine marketing. So what do I do? Nothing. Why? Because I'm an hypocrite? Possibly. Because I am scared? More likely.
